Who We Are

Meet Our Founder
Rachelle Lyons is the heart of our initiative. Rachelle is a passionate changemaker and natural leader with a deep commitment to social justice and youth empowerment. With years of experience mentoring young women of color, Rachelle has created a movement that not only uplifts but transforms lives.
Her work inspires young girls to:
-
Speak boldly and unapologetically
-
Take up space in every room they enter
-
Break through the barriers society places before them
“As an African-American woman, I created this program for young Black girls whose cries have been ignored; to advocate for their needs, amplify their voices, and create real change.”
Founder, Rachelle Lyons, LMSW, MS
We envision a world where Black girls are celebrated for their brilliance, resilience, and leadership. Black girls face unique challenges, including underrepresentation to systemic inequities. The Next Gen Black Girl Magic Program is designed to address these gaps with empathy, strength, and culturally responsive support.
Through hands-on mentorship, transformative workshops, and community outreach, we help girls build self-confidence, develop life skills, and proudly embrace their identities.
Culturally-Responsive Mentorship
We provide hands-on, affirming mentorship that understands and celebrates the lived experiences of Black girls. Our mentors serve as role models, offering personalized guidance, encouragement, and real-life strategies for success.
Transformative Life & Leadership Skills
Through dynamic workshops, girls gain essential skills like public speaking, financial literacy, emotional intelligence, and decision-making. These tools empower them to lead with confidence in school, their communities, and beyond.
Identity Empowerment & Self-Love
We center self-worth and cultural pride. Girls are encouraged to embrace their heritage, express their individuality, and cultivate self-love in the face of a society that often overlooks or misrepresents them.
Community Engagement & Social Justice
Our outreach fosters civic responsibility and activism. Girls participate in community projects and advocacy, learning how to make meaningful change and amplify their voices on issues that impact them and their peers.
Closing Equity Gaps in Education & Opportunity
We actively work to dismantle systemic barriers by creating access to academic support, career exposure, and leadership pipelines, ensuring that Black girls are not only seen, but invested in and uplifted.
